Our Founders
Passive House Egypt was founded by three distinguished architectural experts, all PhD holders from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, specializing in environmental architectural design and energy efficiency in the built environment.
Each founder is a recognized expert in energy-efficient building design, with over 18 years of combined experience in the design and supervision of residential and non-residential projects. Their work is supported by numerous internationally published research papers.
Their collective expertise encompasses Passive House standards, energy-efficient building design, and parametric design, leveraging advanced environmental design tools, cutting-edge energy-performance simulation software, and the seamless integration of renewable energy systems into architectural solutions.
Dr. Heba Abdel-Halim
Dr. Heba Abdel-Halim is a distinguished expert in architectural environmental design and building energy efficiency, a Certified Passive House Designer, and a Certified Scrum Trainer. With over 18 years of combined experience in professional practice and academia, she is a recognized member of the International Passive House Association and an active contributor to industry research and practice.
Dr. Heba holds a PhD focused on innovative, energy-efficient design solutions, reflecting her strong academic foundation as a researcher and educator. She has served as a lecturer at prestigious institutions, including the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University and Misr University for Science and Technology, and has published influential research demonstrating significant energy savings and environmental benefits.
Her core areas of expertise include passive house design, energy-efficient and sustainable architectural design, and project management, where she integrates Agile and Scrum methodologies to deliver high-impact results. Dr. Heba actively engages in local and international projects, conferences, and workshops, leading initiatives that advance green, energy-efficient living environments.
Dr. Eng. Soha El Gohary
Dr. Eng. Soha El Gohary is a dynamic leader combining strong academic credentials with extensive professional expertise. A lecturer in the Architecture Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, she specializes in performative architectural design, with a focus on sustainable and energy-efficient solutions that minimize energy consumption.
An expert in advanced energy simulation programs, Dr. El Gohary leverages cutting-edge tools to optimize building performance and environmental efficiency. Beyond academia, she brings substantial experience as a project manager, overseeing and coordinating large-scale mega projects across Egypt throughout the construction phase.
Her unique blend of technical proficiency, analytical expertise, and leadership acumen drives innovation and excellence in every endeavor, positioning her at the forefront of sustainable architectural practice in Egypt.
Dr. Eng. Maha El Gohary
Dr. Eng. Maha El Gohary is an expert in architectural engineering, specializing in environmental and urban design. She holds a Ph.D. with a thesis titled “A Parametric Model for Sustainable Upgrading of Informal Areas within Egypt,” reflecting her deep commitment to sustainable urban transformation.
Dr. El Gohary has taught at leading academic institutions, including Cairo University, Nile University, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport. Her expertise extends beyond academia through active participation in local and international conferences and workshops.
With a dedicated focus on sustainable urban development, she leverages her extensive academic and professional experience to lead innovative, high-impact projects. Dr. El Gohary is committed to developing solutions that enhance urban environments, improve quality of life, and promote long-term sustainable growth in Egypt and beyond.
